These days, people are always looking for the next best hack to jazz up their stroll. Two popular ways to dial up the intensity? Rucking and power walking.
“Rucking is walking with a weighted backpack, which is called the ruck,” says Sarah Pelc Graca, CPT, a certified health and nutrition coach and the founder of Strong with Sarah. It carries benefits such as losing weight, building muscle, and improving your overall health and longevity. But power walking—or walking at a brisk pace with a little bit more of an exaggerated arm-pumping movement—is helpful in those areas too, she adds.
