Veteran Shares How to Live to 100 While Still Enjoying Ice Cream and Beer

Many people exercise for aesthetic goals or performance benefits, but its life-enhancing power is often overlooked. At 100 years old, Joseph Caminiti is a living testament to how regular exercise can add years to your life.

Caminiti, a Connecticut resident, works out for an hour, five days a week, following a routine combining cardio and weightlifting. He lives independently with his 98-year-old wife and drives himself to the gym every weekday morning.

"You’ve got to exercise. You’ve got to keep going. You’ve got to keep moving," Caminiti told Today.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, adults should get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise weekly and two days of muscle-strengthening activities.
