(Gray News) - A 33-year-old single mother in Utah is raising money for her own funeral after “silently battling a rare terminal cancer” for two years.
Erika Diarte-Carr was diagnosed with cancer the day before Mother’s Day in 2022, when she walked into an emergency room with what she thought was a “normal shoulder injury,” according to the GoFundMe page.
However, that day she was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer.
Doctors told her, “I hope you have a good support system at home because you’re going to need it, you have a long and hard journey ahead of you.”
