His own diet goes pretty hard, too. Kennedy has described himself as following a carnivore diet, heavy in meat and fermented foods such as sauerkraut, kimchi and unsweetened yogurt. It sounds pretty out there, so naturally I couldn’t wait to give it a go, vowing to only eat as JFK’s nephew would for seven days.

I’m not the first to do this, but it did feel like an important undertaking. While I’m not American and RFK’s policies don’t directly affect me, they have become prevalent in the online fitness bro ecosphere. If you aren’t familiar with that, it’s a digital world where self-proclaimed experts recognise no international boundaries (and sometimes, legal ones) when it comes to dishing out questionable wellness advice.

In other words, misinformation is no good for any of us. Arguments for and against RFK’s dietary habits are everywhere, and while I couldn’t definitively prove or disprove the diet’s efficacy, I did want to report on how it made me feel. This is how it played out.
