Barre workouts can look deceptively easy.
You might see someone holding onto a ballet-style barre, making tiny leg pulses or holding an apparently simple position for several seconds. There may be little jumping, no heavy barbell and barely any dramatic movement.
Then the shaking starts.
Barre combines elements of ballet, Pilates, yoga and strength training, using small, controlled movements, high repetitions and isometric holds to fatigue specific muscle groups.
So can those tiny movements really make you stronger?
